An Executive VP is usually an individual that has the responsibility of managing the business. He or she is responsible for overseeing other departments in the company. This individual reports directly to the President of the company.
An Executive VP also works closely with other executives in making decisions for the company. This position can be found in larger companies or businesses that have several different departments.
The duties of an Executive VP are to manage, supervise, plan, direct, coordinate, and control.
A COO job title can also be known as a Chief Operating Officer. The main duties of a COO are to oversee day-to-day operations in an organization. The duties of a COO are to manage, supervise, plan, direct, coordinate, and control.
It is the COO’s job to make sure that the business is running efficiently. This individual works closely with other executives in making decisions for the company. A COO also works with other departments to help them run effectively.
They also work closely with the CEO of the business. He or she reports his or her activity to the CEO.
Which is the Higher Rank – Executive VP or COO?
Both an Executive VP and a COO have similar duties and responsibilities. The main difference between these two positions is that an Executive VP reports directly to the President of the company. A COO reports to the CEO.
Both positions require an individual to have a bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or other related areas. It is also required that the individual possess several years of experience in management.
The education requirement for both positions is the same. Therefore, it is hard to determine which position has a higher rank than the other.
